NEW WEBSITE FEEL

Posted by Jay on May 23, 2017 at 11:10 AM Comments comments (1)

Good morning War Dogs!

The more observant among you may have noticed some changes in the layout and look of the website. This is long overdue, but for various reason it kept getting delayed. It is very much a "work in progress" but I think the new sleek, clean look is much better to browse.

There will be more content added over the coming weeks, including access to the Online Academy for those who wish to subscribe!

Please make sure you register with the site to gain access to the member forums, where you can chat and debate with War Dogs from around the globe.

Have a great day and stay tuned!

Aftermath: Part 3 - May 27th 2017!

Esteem is proud to present "The Hound" Sifu Jay Cooper who is teaching the third of his "Aftermath" seminars - this will be over four hours of articulation, legal concerns and "combat awareness". Anyone claiming they teach self-defense without this piece is misleading you. This is NOT just another "self defense" course; it is a systematic approach to conflict in the real world based on ACTUAL experience in the physical and legal world

Topics the course will cover include -

Legal concerns and rights

Environmental awareness

Line-ups and fences

Pre-emption

Adrenal Loading

De-escalation

Threat Identification

Key phrasing in written & verbal accounts

and much more!

The course will offer opportunities to apply the tactics you have learned over the years in scenario based encounters

Experience is NOT required, as all attendees will receive certification in "Aftermath" with a view to progression through subsequent seminars

If you are an Instructor this information is indispensable for any classes you teach; if you are a student this will put any training you currently do in context. You simply CANNOT miss this if you have even a passing interest in Self-Protection

The cost $60 in advance or $70 on the day. Esteem is VERY excited to be presenting this material to the public, much of which is rarely seen outside of Specialised Training Centres.

Day 1 of the YYC Fit expo was an amazing success - Morrigan took her lumps in the demo too which caught a few eyes i can tell you! Day 2 is underway at 12:00 today, and at 13:15 I will be on an expert panel for a discussion on "East vs West - which is best?" a lighthearted chat about martial arts in general

I look forward to seeing you all out there, so come show some love!

Big thank you to Erika and Tim Holter for organizing such an amazing event! Way to go guys and cannot wait for next year!

Hell On Legs - Grappling Seminar!

Myself and my dear friend & brother Kev Davey -("Paddy Quinn" from TV show "Hell on Wheels") are teaching a joint martial arts seminar for April 29th

It'll take place at the Havoc/Esteem Martial Arts studio in the southeast of Calgary, it'll be 4 to 5 hours duration (with a break for lunch, obviously), and it'll be open to anyone - regardless of their ability or experience - from total novices to advanced students.

What will you learn? Well let's put it this way - between us we have over 70 years experience. Kev's specialty is MMA-oriented Jujitsu - or as some call it, Kev-jitsu - andyou all know my pedigree :)

So in short - hopefully you'll learn lots!

But it's not just about the training - it's also about like-minded people coming together, making connections, and training as one

The cost is $50 in advance or $60 on the door and will be a TON of fun!
